BOLEX HOUSING

BOLEX HOUSING

Switzerland 1955 – ISCHF Collection

Bloex-Paillard introduced the Swiss make housing for Bloex 16mm motion picture cameras. The Bloex housing was to underwater filmmaking as the Rolleimarin was to still photography; Swiss precision and rugged dependability built for the finest camera of the time.

The housing accommodated the Bolex H-16 camera with 100-foot film load, and either the 10mm or 16mm Switar lens. Controls included film wind, shutter release, and aperture control. The housing was designed for use to depths of 300 feet.

Later, adapters were available for the REX (Reflex viewing) model and the 8mm version of the Bolex camera. The Bolex housing was used by nearly all professional, underwater film makers, and used in oceans all over the world.
