The Department of Tourism aims to educate young people and encourage their participation in an industry that remains so vital to our islands’ development. Through contests and competitions, class presentations, and providing educational resources to teachers and students, the Department aids in stimulating the minds of today’s youth when it comes to tourism-related topics.
The Department of Tourism provides training and resources for teachers throughout the Cayman Islands on the skills, topics and methods required to teach tourism topics through various disciplines.
Students are encouraged to participate in the various competitions and contests available here. This stimulates creativity amongst young Caymanians, presenting them with opportunities to further explore and learn about Cayman's tourism product
Classroom presentations are designed to stimulate students’ minds around various tourism concepts including but not limited to how the Department markets the destination, tourism and the environment, the social impacts of tourism, careers in tourism, cruise tourism and the benefits of tourism to all three islands.
