To ensure that the Cayman Islands are viewed as one of the premier destinations in the Caribbean. Ensure that the travel trade is knowledgeable of the Cayman Islands and that they receive first-class tangible and intangible experiences and are better able to convert potential visitors into loyal customers.Create compelling reasons to travel and infuse Caymanian culture into every activity performed. Ensure efforts in local media are consistent with global positioning and stay true to the Cayman Islands brand when promoting the Sister Islands. Develop and execute event tourism to create additional compelling reasons to visit the Cayman Islands during shoulder periods and add to the diversity of experiences in the Cayman Islands. Support Global Office programming to provide vibrant Cayman Islands experiences in source marketing and on-island.

  • Gary Hendricks-Dominguez

    Manager, National Promotions & Events

    Gary brings over 15 years of experience in marketing, events, project, and strategic management to his new role. He has worked for organisations such as the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, Cayman Turtle Centre, and Digicel. As Manager, National Promotions & Events, he is responsible for the department's national marketing, including local and community sponsorship, special events, domestic advertising & collateral, the travel trade FAM program and leading the Cayman Islands Latin America strategy.
    Gary has spent the past 12 years with the CIDOT, where he worked his way up through various roles. He was first employed as the Marketing Events Officer; then, he was promoted to Marketing Communications Officer, after which he served as the Events Marketing Supervisor.
    Gary holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI), a Digital Marketing Certification from the Digital Marketing Institute of Ireland, and an MBA in Marketing from Lynn University in Florida.

    Tourism Services Supervisor

    Passionate about the islands she has grown up in, Sarah had been working in the hospitality sector in hotels for 6 years before joining the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel & Lodging Management from the Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte, North Carolina.
    An organized and detailed- orientated professional, with a creative mind. Sarah believes in developing strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues, vendors, clients and the community. 

  • Lorna Highwarden

    Marketing Officer

    Lorna has over 10 years’ experience working in corporate America as well as the Cayman Islands. While living in California, Lorna worked in the music department for a leading talent and sports agency as well as an international law firm that is listed in Fortune magazine’s 100 best Companies To Work For.
    In 2019, Lorna joined the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism as a Marketing Officer for the National Promotions and Events. She holds a Bachelor of Communications degree in Public Relations from Barry University, Miami, FL. In her leisure, she enjoys travelling, painting, kayaking and writing in her gratitude journal.

  • Alyssa Miller

    Marketing Assistant

    Alyssa has over 8 years’ experience in the Cayman Islands tourism industry, holding the title of Marketing Assistant within the Department of Tourism for the past 5½ years. Alyssa currently leads the FAM (Familiarization) Programme, which, in conjunction with our various regions, brings an average of 80 to 100 travel agents to our beautiful islands, enabling them to better sell our destination to their clients. Alyssa also assists the Events team in executing on-island events when needed. She earned her Associate’s degree in Social Studies from University College of the Cayman Islands and a certificate in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality from Eastern College. Alyssa is also a full-time mom of two beautiful children and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University.
