The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) has launched an updated online travel training programme with a new easy-to-navigate design.
The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) has launched an updated online travel training programme with a new easy-to-navigate design, useful selling tips and revised information on the complete visitor experience available on all three islands.
With the increase in event tourism, a new section on the increasing number of special events and festivals being hosted on the Cayman Islands has been added. Agents can learn about high-profile lifestyle events like the music festival of KAABOO, the culinary festival of Cayman Cookout hosted by the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman Hotel as well as sporting events like the Flowers Sea Swim and the Cayman Marathon.
As well as unique attractions such as the blue iguanas of Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park, the sandbar of Stingray City and historical centre of Pedro St James, agents can learn more about the wide range of themed experiences and activities.  These include Cayman Islands’ heritage & history and culture as well as culinary, wildlife & nature, great value shopping, diving, water-sports and thrilling activities like horse-riding or kite-surfing along the beach.
Agents can learn about the choice of different styled-accommodation from boutique bed and breakfasts to fully-serviced luxury resort styled hotels to luxury villas with a high level of personalised service.
The training programme matches individual customer profiles with the ideal island to visit and also includes a full list of UK tour operators and airlines which feature the Cayman Islands.
Agents completing the training course by 15 June 2019 will be entered automatically into a prize-draw to win £100 in Love2shop vouchers.  Three lucky winning agents will be contacted by 25 June 2019.
Richard Trasler, CIDOT’S Marketing Executive commented: “We have re-designed the training programme to highlight the unique experiences available on the Cayman Islands and what really sets us apart from other luxury destinations. By providing our agent partners with essential product knowledge they can feel confident in selling the Cayman Islands to any customer.  There really is something for everyone from the incredible dive-sites and award-winning Seven Mile Beach of Grand Cayman, to the nature-lover’s paradise of Cayman Brac and the hideaway island of Little Cayman.”
