Tourism Stipend Update: Official Emails Sent & Require Response

On Thursday, 2 July the first group of over 1,700 verified applicants received the official email with a link to supply banking information for the displaced tourism employee stipend.  The subject line for this email was ‘Request for Banking Information’.  Applicants should check their spam or junk folder, noting that this correspondence went to verified persons only

A second email will be sent today, 3 July, to the remaining group of verified applicants.  The subject line will read ‘MOT Stipend- Request for Banking Information’.  The deadline for all responses is no later than noon, (12:00pm) on Tuesday, 7 July. All persons who received the email are encouraged to respond swiftly to finalise the payment distribution process.

To accommodate persons with questions pertaining specifically to the official email and instructions on banking details, a call centre has been established to assist persons over the holiday weekend. The call centre will be open from Friday, 3 July through Monday, 6 July during the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

For those persons who were not approved, please answer and return missed calls from the Department of Tourism. Applicants that still require workplace confirmation were not approved and are pending until DOT is able to get in touch with these applicants. Please respond to missed calls, voicemails and also anticipate an email to be issued on Friday, 3 July 2020. This email will serve to confirm your work place in tourism.

The displaced tourism employee stipend is part of the overall Cayman Islands Government assistance plan for those who were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
