The Cayman Islands Welcomes Back JetBlue Airways as the U.S. Carrier Resumes Route Between New York

On October 16, 2021, the Cayman Islands will welcome back the first American carrier operating commercial flight from the U.S. to Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) in Grand Cayman.

JetBlue Airways will resume a regular flight schedule beginning October 16, operating a route twice weekly from JFK (New York City) to ORIA (Grand Cayman) on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

“The arrival of this first commercial flight from New York to Cayman carrying tourists is quite significant for us,” said Hon. Minister for Tourism and Transport, Mr. Kenneth V. Bryan. “Our strategic, phased reopening plan has facilitated this major aviation milestone and we are grateful to welcome travellers from New York back to our shores to experience all that Cayman has to offer.”

In accordance with the Cayman Islands Government’s reopening plan, securely verified, vaccinated travellers arriving in Cayman will be subject to public health measures such as quarantine and on-island testing to ensure both locals and visitors remain safe.
