Cayman Art

3 Girls and a Kiln are an art collective based in Grand Cayman with a focus on local art, fun design and island inspired creativity. Coming from different artistic backgrounds they each bring something new and different from ceramics and paintings to upcycled/repurposed gifts.

Ward is artist who works in mixed media painting and sculpture. The content of her work has developed over the past 20 years ranging from figurative, conceptual to most recently abstraction, where she is exploring movement with mark making. Born in Scotland and raised in South Africa, she made Cayman her home in the early 2000’s and more recently founded Awardart Gallery, which specializes in showing contemporary fine art. In 2017 Ward received a Gold Star Award from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation for a lifetime achievement of excellence in art. Her work has been shown at NGCI in numerous exhibitions, including Mediating Self (2017) and Cross Currents - 1st Cayman Islands Biennial (2019).

Shane Aquârt is a Jamaican born, now Caymanian artist, who signs his art ‘Dready’. With a unique style that is highly influenced by his West Indian and international upbringing his art is bright and whimsical, with a frequently humorous take on the familiarity of life. Hand drawn in digital format, Shane combines bold blocks of colour with as few lines as possible to create what has become known as, ‘a Dready’.

Gordon Solomon made his debut in the visual arts movement as a fine art painter in 1999, when he first began experimenting with oils on canvas to create works of art. He has exhibited his work in Cuba, London, New York City, The Hamptons, Ft. Lauderdale and at the recent Kaaboo Festival held in the Cayman Islands. He has works in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI) and the Cayman Islands National Museum (CINM).

John Reno Jackson is a Caymanian multidisciplinary artist. He partook in foundational courses in both painting and drawing from the London Art Academy in 2015 and is currently enrolled in TURPS Correspondence Course 2020-2021. Since then he has continued his exploration with painting media through a series of works made in Grand Cayman. Jackson has exhibited work with a group showcase titled “Island of Women” (2020) at National Gallery of the Cayman Islands and has also recently been part of a residency program at PADA Studios, Lisbon, Portugal (2020). Jackson has pieces that belong to the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands permanent collection. He currently works and lives in Grand Cayman.

CE Whitney paints primarily in oil on canvas and often in large format. Her work focuses on her surroundings from which she extracts their intricate nature and beauty. A fallen seagrape leaf, on closer inspection, is an intense shadow cast on a sun drenched beach. A sunrise becomes the shape of the ripples on a calm colored morning sea. Raised in an artistic environment in Toronto, growing up Carolyn enjoyed sketching and painting. In the early 1970's Whitney moved to Grand Cayman. Here the brilliant sunlight and intense ocean colors inspired her to start painting again.

Livia C is a Romanian born Caymanian resident. Her artistic style is influenced by her childhood in Romania and Montreal, Canada where she moved with her family at the age of 13. After moving to Cayman she fell in love with the beautiful landscapes and colours of the ocean and is fast becoming an established, acrylic, oil and water colour artist of Cayman under the ''Cayman Passion'' brand. Livia is touched that her art can reignite people's fond memories of Cayman around the world.
