Important Update

Effective Friday, 8 April 2022: The following amendments to COVID-19 regulations now apply in the Cayman Islands: 

Any vaccinated person may travel to the Islands without being subject to quarantine on arrival if they:

  • Complete the pre-arrival test;
  • Complete a medical and travel questionnaire and undergo a medical examination, if a Customs and Border Control (CBC) Officer considers it necessary;
  • Complete and submit a travel declaration to Travel Cayman in advance of your travel dates, but no later than 72 hours before your trip; and
  • Provide evidence of the travel declaration when requested to do so by a CBC Officer.

Effective Monday, 21 March 2022: The following amendments to COVID-19 regulations now apply in the Cayman Islands: 

  • Any person disembarking must have completed an approved vaccine course at least 14 days prior to embarking the cruise ship. This also applies for captains and crew members.
  • Unvaccinated children under the age of 12 years can only disembark when accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult.

Welcome Back

Fully vaccinated travellers (adults and children) can enter without having to quarantine.

  • Children age 11 and younger will take the vaccination status of their parents, allowing fully vaccinated visitors to travel with children age 11 and younger.
  • Unvaccinated visitors (age 12 and over) are not able to travel to the Cayman Islands at this time, unless that visitor has a close tie to the Cayman Islands. A close tie is considered anyone who can demonstrate that they own a business or property in the Cayman Islands or has a close family tie. A family tie is anyone that is the spouse, civil partner, sibling, parent, step-parent, grandparent, grandchild, child or stepchild of a Caymanian or Resident.
  • Visiting unaccompanied children under the age of 12 years, even if unvaccinated, will not be required to quarantine under certain conditions. 
  • If you are an unvaccinated Caymanian or Returning Resident, you are required to quarantine for at least 7 days.

Travel Requirements

(Before and During Travel)
To ensure the health and safety of all persons travelling to the Cayman Islands, all travellers must:
  1. Apply to the Travel Cayman portal for an official Certificate to Travel by requesting a Travel Declaration.
  2. Be fully vaccinated by a WHO approved vaccine
  3. Take a certified rapid test or a PCR test the day before departure with a negative result, this is required for all travellers age 5 and older. 
    1. A certified rapid test is one that is administered by a medical provider or a self-administered test that is video observed by AZOVA. (A medical provider includes a drug store, urgent care, lab affiliated with a medical facility, or doctor’s office.) 
    2. Test can be taken any time the day before the departure, it is not limited to 24 hours before departure. As an example, a test can be scheduled at 8am and the flight can be at 11am the next day.
  4. Have suitable Medical and Travel Insurance, which you should ensure that COVID-19 is not an exclusion to the existing policies.
