Know Before You Go
The Cayman Islands is made up of three islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman, each with its own charm and unique offerings. No matter where you choose to live, we have the perfect place for your lifestyle.
Most people who relocate to the islands look for Grand Cayman condo rentals because, as the largest and most developed island, it offers more convenience and comfort. Before you make the big move, here’s what you need to know:
Timeline
Start your search early! Ideally, you should begin looking for Cayman Islands long-term rentals at least four weeks before you arrive or longer if you have more time to plan. This gives you plenty of time to explore options, schedule viewings, and handle any paperwork. The rental market can be competitive, especially during peak seasons, so getting a head start will help you snag the perfect Cayman Islands condo.
Types of Housing
Whether you’re searching for daily, weekly, or monthly rentals, Cayman Islands real estate options abound! From stylish apartments and condos to roomy villas and guest houses, you’ll find something that suits your needs. Luxury condos are great for convenience and community amenities, while houses and villas are perfect if you want more space and privacy.
Long-Term Rental Pricing
You’re sure to find something in your budget here in the Cayman Islands! Long-term rental prices vary widely depending on the type of rental property and location. Grand Cayman monthly rentals near George Town, Seven Mile Beach, or Camana Bay are usually pricier, and properties further inland or on Cayman Brac and Little Cayman might be more affordable. Consider your budget and make a list of your priorities to find a rental that fits your financial plan.
Lease Terms
Grand Cayman long-term rentals typically range from six months to a year, but there’s (almost) always the option for renewal. Many rentals come fully furnished, with essential amenities like appliances and air conditioning. Some even have access to pools and gyms. Always clarify the lease terms with your landlord before signing.
Security Deposits
For long-term rentals in Grand Cayman and the Sister Islands, you’ll need to pay a security deposit, usually the equivalent of one month’s rent. Like in other places, this is refundable at the end of your lease, provided there are no damages or outstanding bills. We always recommend checking and documenting the property’s condition when you move in and out.
Utilities
Residential utilities like electricity, water, and internet are usually not included in Cayman Islands long-term rentals. So, be sure to budget for these additional costs, which can vary based on usage and the size of your rental.
Shipping & Storage
If you’re moving to the Cayman Islands, you’re probably thinking of shipping at least some of your belongings. There are several of companies that specialize in international relocations and can help you transport your items safely. If you need extra space, look for storage facilities available on the islands.
Insurance
If you’re planning on staying more than a few months in the Cayman Islands, it’s a good idea to get renter’s insurance. This can protect your belongings in case of theft, hurricane damage, or other unexpected events. Make sure to shop around and find a policy that fits your needs.
What You’ll Need to Get Here
Before you pack your bags, make sure you’re familiar with the travel requirements for the Cayman Islands. You’ll need a valid passport and, depending on your nationality, possibly a visa. You will need a work permit if you’re planning on working here.
