Hurricane Guarantee

The Cayman Islands prides itself in providing travellers with unrivalled vacation experiences and allowing guests to be unburdened by the stresses of everyday life. As hurricane seasons are unpredictable, the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism continues to give its visitors peace of mind with the destination’s Worry Free Hurricane Guarantee. This specialty promise, made by participating on-island partners, covers cancellations due to a hurricane watch being issued or compensation if vacation time is cut short due to inclement weather during a Cayman Islands getaway.

What period is covered under the guarantee?
The guarantee covers travel between June 1 and November 30, 2023.

When are guests allowed to be refunded/rebooked due to a hurricane?

Accommodations providers will refund/rebook travel once an official hurricane watch has been issued by the Hazard Management of the Cayman Islands.

Is the Government responsible for refunding cancelations?

No. The Cayman Islands Government and the Department of Tourism will not be responsible for reimbursing trips or rebooking travel. The guarantee is an agreement between the guest and the accommodations provider. Please contact your accommodations provider for more information on their policies.
